Good restaurant. We had immediate Sunday morning seating though there were waits after us; I had the quiche du jour which was good and my wife had the French toast which was good. I had a great meal there once, but have been back since and found the service terribly lacking. The waiters ignored me as I stood for several minutes waiting to be seated and walked past when I tried to ask for a seat. And no, they were not busy. And yes, I was polite, audible, and dressed appropriately. more

In our one week visit to Portland, we ate at ESB twice ... once for breakfast and once for lunch. Great location, interesting menu, good pastries, excellent wait staff.
