Decent place to eat. Food is way overpriced for what you get. Service was good. Great for drinks and watching the sunset.
Sort of pissed right now. The service was crappy and I'm a patient soul having worked in the restaurant industry and currently a manager of a café in Costa Rica. It was just myself and my 3 year old son. After bad service, I paid $29 for a fish ceviche, 2 mojitos, 2 bottles of water and fish fingers w/fries.... More
Vivian is relatively new to the San Juan scene. The staff is very nice. they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and you can tell they've had a class in costumer service. Anything fried they offer is very good, the batter is tasty and krispy.. ive also had the garlic octupus and its cooked correctly and... More
So far this has been the friendliest place to eat. The staff are friendly, smiling, smartly dressed and the service is very professional. I loved the fresh breaded fish, it was melt in the mouth good. You can't get closer to the ocean than sitting on the sand. Great value.
Me and my husband went to eat at "Vivian RESTAURANT" and they have a "special Menu" at the front door. The manager convinced us to enter by giving us an special deal. But when we got the bill, he charged us for two dishes in one plate, when he offered us one plate with two dishes. The cake was like... More
We were a big group drive by recomendation. Most of us are locals, so we get first hand recomendation. On August 27th, 2013 the restaurant have a keyboard and a singer playin music. It was so loud that I wasn't able to tell if they were any good. They were so loud that my cochlear bones hurted. I said that... More
Enjoyed eating on the beach overlooking the ocean. Appreciated the fact that Nicas filled the Nica owned restaurant unlike most tourist-filled places run by foreigners. The pescado entero was intriguing although a lot of work. It was quite warm as there was no wind tunnel. The waiters were very friendly and attentive.
I fell in love with Vivian, the restaurant, immediately. It is a charming open-air restaurant on the beach. The staff is very attentive and friendly. During the week, there are few people dining and the staff take time to chat at length. They can do wonderful things with plantain and have a large menu of shrimp dishes and of course,... More
When we arrived ( a party of 15) we were seated closest to the beach dining area. As we were ordering the waves were so calming. We were relaxed enjoying the great Nica coffee and the omlettes. All 15 of our guests were treated with respect and we would go back over and over again.
We ate twice at Restaurante Vivian, last week. The decor is pretty standard for an ocean front open air restaurant in Latin America. The service was good both times we visited, and the food was well perpared. Their ceviche was tasty and in the typical Nica /Costa Rican style. The standout meals were the thre lobster tail dinner for $14.50.... More
