Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

well you can tell it's now run by a chain i.e. Marston's . No atmosphere , staff sat man spreading while he watched people eat on the other side of the room . miserable bar staff who clearly had the face of I don't want...to be here . Such a shame this pub has gone through the floor in a matter of a few weeks of the previous excellent land lords . I wont be coming back anytime soon the Queens head down the road is much more welcoming with better food and atmosphere .More

Booked and ordered Sunday lunch, already no beef option when we arrived . Selected roast and offered small portion, perfect we thought except they didn’t mention no roast potatoes, leeks or butternut squash ready either. And the Yorkshire pudding was burnt and cold. Quite the...worst dinner on the plate and would have ordered off the menu. Offered better service if we returned, and took off the drinks. Unlikely as travelling and not worth the journey.More

Great pub with a good selection of ales and well set up menu. Good choice of home cooked food. Home made Steak and Ale pie for my wife and Gammon Steak with trimmings for me. Only drop off was that we sat on our own...in the dining room. Would have been better bar side - livelier.More

I’m new to this. So I hope I can post this? I attended this place about a week or so ago. To be greated by a man who works there who was overly polite. There was a queue at the bar which was pleasant to...see. There was a lady on, a Middle Ages lady like myself wearing glasses who was nothing but rude and dismissive! She was standing talking to this gentleman moaning about her workplace and what I presumed was the people in it, I’m not sure wether she intended customers or colleagues but all seemed to be in an aggressive manor . It was horryfing! Swearing and hatred like comments while being served is mortifying.More

Visited for lunch after a few hours walking around the arboretum. It was pouring with rain so we didn't want to sit outside but they had no more tables available. We decided to wait, and a minute or so later whilst we were still reading...the menus, they'd opened up the upstairs early for us which was much appreciated! Staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and polite. (The kitchen staff seemed to really enjoy their jobs judging by the singing coming from there!) The tables, cutlery, glasses etc were all clean. Food was lovely - everyone in our party really enjoyed their mains and their desserts. Thank you for providing us with a lovely couple of hours in your pub!More

Always drive past this pub and always seems to be busy so thought we would give it a try. After going in and not even being found a table for the three of us and told to “squeeze up”- none of them seemed interested in...our custom. We will not be returning.More

A lovely little pub next to the canal. Staff are all lovely and a real help with my wife being gluten free. We stopped at the camp site next door and the pub is happy to offer a takeaway service for the guests. Food was...fantastic with great chunky chips. Will be back here again soon.More

Had a lovely meal and catered for vegetarian very well too. I've stopped using single use plastics, so the only downside was that most of the sauces were in single use sachets except for the brown vinegar, which was in a lovely refillable container. Be...great if the other sauces were also in refillable containers too.More

I visit Wolverley campsite next to the Lock inn about 3 times a year In fact the inn is part of the reason i stay at Wolverley. I was so disappointed with the general condition of the place.Four very young people behind bar which was...empty when they decided to serve me when they finised talking. The outside area is a disgrace as far as cleanliness goes from the skip area to the seating area by the lock all needs a good sweep + During my visits over a number of years the tables by the Lock were by those eating and the tables in the front of the inn and two in the car park were used by the just having a drink people. Now the tables at the front and in the car park have vanished When i visited at 6PM on a very hot day the seating area was full ,as were the ashtrays nailed to the post by the tables, but only one person was eating!! I assume that The Lock is under new managment due to the way the place has changed and if changes are not made visitors like myself will go elsewhere. One compliment The pint of Banks Bitter was one of the bestMore

Hi. I did not look for gluten free items but they are very helpful so it may be better to give the pub a call.
