Once we arrived in Charleston at the French Quarter Inn, we started searching tripadvisor for restaurants. After calling SNOB and realizing that there would be an hour wait (we don't wait for anything) we called other restaurants down the line until we contacted Cypress (the third call). They were just SOOO accommodating on the phone and, from the moment we... more

Well, I was hoping this place was going to be great but... it wasn't. We arrived as the second couple in a 14 person party. We waited at the door quite some time before the hostess showed up to take us to our group. Not huge but a bit ridiculous. Our server greeted us and explained the specials but, it... more

My expectations for Cypress were very high, they were met. The service was excellent. The server was very informed, patient and our meal moved at a perfect pace. All of the food was wonderful, especially the butternut squash soup. I'm not sure what the blend is but they also have one of the best cups of coffee that I've had... more

We absolutely loved this restaurant! Beautiful decor, attentive service and marvelous food - they have it all! We stopped back the following evening for dessert and drinks at the gorgeous upstairs bar. more

Five of us went to Cypress on a busy Saturday night for dinner on the reccomendations from tripadvisor and loved it. We originally had a reservation for 2, but when we called 45 minutes before too increase our size to 5, they made it work. My husband had the ribeye which was excellent and I had the vegetable rissoto which... more

The food was wonderful. The wine list is huge. I had the best cocktail I've ever tasted (vodka and cucumber juice). Trendy place, good for couples. Portion size was huge, much larger than you would expect from a trendy more pricey establishment. Our server (Stacy) was fantastic. He made the night that much better. more

Cypress: no hokey southern "cuisine" with cocoa cola cake and all that crap. Upscale, elegant setting, great innovative menu, and fine food and service. Not cheap or for families, but a treat. more

We dined at Cypress as part of an anniversary celebration trip. We loved this restaurant! We started off with a caesar salad that was made tableside - a very dying art ... we had not seen this offered in years. Our waiter, Joe, was very experienced at this and did a fabulous job. Dinner was a rack of lamb for... more

You're spoilt for choice in Charleston as regards the dining scene and both the hotel receptionist and our guide book recommended this restaurant. We were going to dress up and go the following night but as we were passing popped in to make reservation. It was early, by European standards, but they had space there and then so we stayed... more

On a recent visit to Charleston, we choose two different restaurants for each night we were in town. Cypress was one of the restaurants we picked. With all the places to pick from in Charleston, we would probably try many other places first when we come back to town again. The overall food was very good and no real complaints... more
