I attended a special "Slow Food" event in Nov 2009, and was thoroughly impressed with the menu, the concept, and the delicious food! Being from the South, I was thoroughly convinced I did NOT like grits... but owner/chef Jason McConnel's specialty dish of Shrimp & Grits has made me a believer after all these years!!! Wow! Wow! and Wow! I had the tuna and chopped salad. Creme brulee for dessert (which was on the house since it was our 5th anniversary)!!! The menu changes every 6ish weeks, so you are never bored with the same thing each time you visit. Small menu, which I LOVE. Don't throw me a book like the cheesecake factory does.... more

My husband and I were visiting Nashville for the weekend and staying in Brentwood. We were trying to find an interesting restaurant and so turned to Tripadvisor for ideas. Since the Red Pony had good reviews and an interesting-sounding menu, we made our reservation on Open Table. Open Table listed the restaurant as "romantic". I would definitely describe it more... more

The Red Pony is a great hole in the wall that the locals even eat at! Amazing wine selection, but no beers on tap. We had the beef tenderloin and sushi which both were amazing. Located on the main street of the cozy downtown. we highly recommend. more

This is truly one of the fine restaurants in Nashville area. We are so lucky to be in Franklin and able to enjoy this. Very original restaurant. The food is amazing. The service is unparalleled and the atmosphere is definitely unique. It's a tad on the pricey side, but considering the quality of ingredients and the wide selection of fine wines (They have Shafer's Cabernet for god's sake!) it is definitely worth the cost. more

Excellent food, wine and service at The Red Pony. Upscale food with a southern twist. I had an excellent creative pasta dish and salad that was wonderful. My husband also found his fish selection excellent. After moving to Franklin from a much larger city we are thrilled to find a nearby restaurant of this quality. We will be back. more
