Unusual and beautifully crafted menu, heavy on vegetarian specialties. The burritos are really terrific. For a non-veggie dish, though, try the hot Oh Boy! sandwich, a truly sublime combination of tastes. Save room for the home-made lemon pie. The owners are local, and many of the servers are musicians and students, so eating here supports the local economy. more

Tomato Heads - a bit eccentric, but the build your own pizza is great. The rest of the menu is tempting, but so far we have not been able to skip the pizza. My wife and I had dinner at The Tomato Head on Market Square during our recent stay in Knoxville. We had heard good things about it and it's supposedly popular with the locals. Overall I came away pretty disappointed. The restaurant has a few tables outside on the square, and I think these would be the ideal place to sit.... more

Nothing special about this place...yet it keeps a good crowd. Authenic Italian? Not really. It seems like this place needs to be in San Fran instead of Knoxville.
