The seafood mushrooms are awesome. The chicken dish with mushrooms, crab meat and sauce is a MUST. Would travel back to Memphis just to eat again at Mortimer's
i came there got the best service ever from this server named amanda she went above and beyond for best service ever request her section,,,
Last night I had a blue-cheese-stuffed filet that was topped with hollandaise and was out of this WORLD. I've been to Mortimer's many times and have tried pretty much everything on their menu--have liked pretty much everything I have tried, but this steak was a thing of beauty. The blue cheese and hollandaise were flavorful without eclipsing the artful seasoning... More
Old favorite for a quick lunch. Good food, daily lunch specials. Full bar. They have an amazing cheese stuffed burger. Salads are great. It's been there for years and still puts out good food at a bargain price. I'll have to get back more often.
From a plate lunch to fancier fare, Mortimer's is a good choice. I have been there during lunch hours with coworkers and customers The food has always been good. Brought to the table at the right temp and tasty. Sometimes the service has been a little slow. If you are in a rush you may have to get your server's... More
A bit of a gem in a neighborhood area, on Perkins Road between Summer Ave and Sam Cooper Blvd. The menu is varied, with steaks, seafood, sandwiches, burgers, soups and salads. The ribeye steak is delicious, nearly always tender and juicy, and always cooked as ordered. Sirloin is a lesser adventure and is often tough, but is flavorful. Rolls are... More
We tried this restaurant on a whim. Though it's been here for years, for some reason it wasn't on my radar. It is now. The special - meatloaf florentine - is excellent. So many other items on the menu beckon another visit. Oysters, Cajun dishes, seafood, sandwiches. Decisions, decisions. Oh, and there's a full bar.
My boyfriend and I have lived in Memphis our whole life and neither of us had ever heard of this place. It is right down the street from the house he just bought so we decided to try it out with his mom. Could not have been more blown away. The only negative is that the chairs kill your back.... More
The atmosphere is quiet, the staff is very friendly and the price is extremely reasonable. I recommend the fried dill pickles, sweet potato fries, bread pudding, banana pudding, any of the salads and steak. Actually everything is really good.
This is a neighborhood place for me. I go there a few times a month. They have a nice patio with shad trees. Good place to head to after work for a few drinks. The lunch there is prepared monthly and is always really tasty, you get for big bang for the buck.
