The food is very good, the restaurant is very clean, and the staff is great.
We ate at the Black Bear Cafe after doing some hiking in the local area. The hamburgers were so good that we wouldn't leave to return to Florida until we ate one last time at Black Bear Cafe! By the way, the blackberry cobbler is made from wild, local berries and you won't find anything better!
Excellent food. A little small, but it made it even more cozy! Had the trout - the best i've ever had! Husband had the steak. Everything was clean and fabulous. Was too full for dessert, but I regret not at least trying something! Friendly faces and excellent service too. Will always come back when we return to TN.
My grouper sandwich was fresh and tasty but the sides were undistinguished. This is a simple, very clean restaurant with efficient service.
We got in late on Monday night, staff here was great and friendly. We were glad they were still open. The food was decent and after eating at other locations this was the better place overall in town.

I had a hamburger and fries both were great! The fries were exceptionally good....large yet crispy! I tasted my friends Fried Okra and it was great very tasty and crisp. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean and neat. It is also a biker friendly place....we saw several nice bikes out front...plenty of parking too!!
My husband and I were staying at the Cades Cove Campground in the Smoky Mountain National Park and decided to eat lunch out for a change. As usual, we checked TripAdvisor and chose The Black Bear Cafe. We both ordered the special--open-faced roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy for $8 +. The portion was very generous; we could... More
Exactly what I was looking for......quaint, great food and great people. Away from the hustle bustle of Pigeon Forge. I disovered Black Bear Cafe late in my vacation however I managed to squeeze in 1 Lunch and 2 Dinners. I tried something different everytime and was thoroughly pleased with each one. Examples: Grouper Sandwich, Meatloaf with potatoes & gravy, Meatloaf... More
