Was drawn to check this place out after reading so many negative reviews on TripAdvisor. The place was great! Grab your own drinks and have a seat...what a great way to put a guest at ease. The service was prompt and the food was very good. So good that we actually took some food back to our B&B for the... more

Ok so we walk in a very crowded room when I say crowded I mean it!!!! A young man in the back kithen running his butt off was able to sit us and tell us the waitress will be right with us and to grab a drink and a seat!!! We helped ourselves to some awesome Jimmy buffet beers (... more

We were referred here but an employee of Fredericksburg Inn & Suites. We drove the 10 hilly miles and finally found it. There are no signs directing you. The burgers were really great and I don't like burgers. You have a choice of breads and we chose Cheese-Jalapeno. The owner was cooking all of the burgers and the place was... more

First, our group arrived at about 4:30ish on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't quiet crowded yet. The place is extremely small, crowded, loud, dirty, and very hot. It only got hotter as it started filling up with customers. We kept getting bumped and brushed up against our entire meal. I am not too sure that this place could comply with... more

Soggy with grease and made fresh - not frozen! I couldn't finish the burger because it was huge - the only downer was that my jalapeno cheese bun fell apart. My wife had the soup and the quail salad and said, "it was to die for." I can't wait to go back. The music, beer, food are all first rate... more

Like many others we went to the place because it was the "cover" burger on Texas Monthly. Unfortunately, after going an hour out of our way we never got to eat. First, on its menu the place says it is open from 10 to 10, which implies it is open from 10 to 10. Second, the menu also says on... more

We drove 31/2 hours round trip to get a Texas Monthly "cover burger"... The cafe was PACKED beyond belief. The guys doing the grill and the young boy with the earring through his lip were doing SUCH a great job. I even overheard the boy working the register patiently on the phone speaking with a lost tourist trying to find... more

After just receiving this month's issue of Texas Monthly, I don't understand the raves about Alamo Springs. My husband and I went there last Sunday at 2 pm. We got a table right away and then waited 30 min for the only waitress inside the restaurant. She finally came, looked bored and took our order. We waited about 40 more... more

We had a fun time watching the bats and walked the short distance to Alamo Springs afterwords. Very laid back, "help yourself" type of place. Once you pin down a table, it's the honor system for drinks and you get your own from the drink area. The burgers were really good and the fries so tasty! more

Alamo Springs is out of the town but worth every gallon of gas which is less then 1. It is a small Country story but it has the best food in the area. They serve a hamburger to Die For. The place is run by a great cook and and wonderful college waitress. I would go back as often as... more
