Based on an article in a magazine my wife showed me about Galveston, I decided to try the two restaurants recommended during our two day stay this past weekend. In one word: Exceptional. I made reservations for myself and my husband because a good friend of mine told me how much she enjoyed eating there. Although I have a severe allergy to shellfish, my husband loves seafood so I thought I would treat him (I have come to find that most seafood restaurants offer at least steak or chicken).... more

Reopened post Hurricane Ike with delicious food and great service. Yes the noise level can be a bit loud but I've definitely been in much louder places elsewhere. I recommend going early to beat the dinner crowd and/or getting reservations. Had an apple/pecan salad that was to-die for and their specialty grilled red fish with a yummy sauce. Before Hurricane Ike, Saltwater Grill was one of our favorite places to go. It's quite near us (we live over it!), the food was consistently delicious, and the service superb. I am delighted to report that this fabulous restaurant will re-open today, Monday, July 27th. more

We just lucked into this place on our first trip to Galveston this past weekend (8/8/08). We lucked into a table (barely) without a reservation, and settled in with our two daughters (2 & 5 years old) in a comfortable corner booth. The waiter could not have been more accommodating, even suggesting deviations from the menu that might be more... more

Upon reading reviews I picked a couple restaurants to visit while in Galveston. We were very pleased with Saltwater Grill. I called to make reservations as I didn't know if on 4th of July if they may be very busy. It was myself, husband, and 2 kids -ages 19 and 15. They gave us a huge horseshoe booth and Kevin... more

When I read all of the great reviews I immediately booked Salt Water Grill for dinner as I was planning a short, simple wedding on the beach in Galveston and had a party of less than five people. I chose Galveston for my beach wedding as I have many happy memories there but could have gone to a much "ritzier"... more
