Everyone in Houston told me I had to eat here while in town for the week. I am SO glad that I did. By far the best tex-mex I've ever had!
I'm not over exaggerating. Every time i come over to see my parents, we go there on our first night, last night and maybe once more within the week. It's the only place in Houston where you feel like you're on holiday. The Bud Light is always cold, the frozen margeritas just right. Most importantly, the beef fajita's are the... More
The restaurant was a crazy maze of small shacks which helped the feel of the place. Great salsa and chips and the food was great. I had the super hot steak fajitas and they didn't disappoint me with the heat, flavor, and perfectly cooked steak. The margaritas and the modello dark on draft is great as well. Service was fantastic!
Went and had fajitas for 2 - split between 4! Alot of food. Drinks seem a little weak but the beef fajitas were worth the trip! My son had the chicken taco al cabon, which he enjoyed. Service lacking but Lupe Tortilla's is not known for exceptional service, just food!
Classic mexican dishes nicely done : we started with free nachos (with very tasty homemade sauces - unlike a previous comment mentions) before having a very good chicken fajita (tasty meat cooked just right, not overcooked like in many places) The decoration and music provide you a small journey to mexico, which makes the meal even more pleasant (plus: there... Excellent, fast service. Strong flavorful margaritas. The only thing I didn't like was the chef's stubborn unwillingness to share his frijoles recipe. Loved it!
I ate here a few days ago...I'm not a complainer, so please know that this is an honest review and take it into serious consideration. The low points are as follow...the salsa that comes with the chips is BAD...too watery and NO flavor of any sort. I ate my chips without it..the entree, I had the tortilla soap (10$) and... More
We were 9 people arriving for lunch at peak hour. We were told that it would be quite a wait. However, there were lots of setting available outside, and if we wanted to sit outside, we could be seated right away. They had fans strategically placed, so even if it was a hot day we did not fry. Plenty of... More
Well, always crowded....loud, but that comes with a great place to eat TexMex Business trip with a friend and this place was recommended to us. Easy to find, but parking is very tough...so expect to walk or have the patients to wait for a slot to open Once seated, the chs came with some awesome salsa and ranchero beans... The... More
It has been nearly a year since I was out at Lupe's Tortillas. TODAY I decided to make a trip to my all time FAVORITE Tex-Mex restaurant in Houston BUT THEY ARE CLOSED! A big sign outside the front door invites visitors to their College Station location! SORRY LUPE'S...it's not bloody likely I'm going to drive 90 miles for a... More
