My Husband and I frequent the Vermont Pub & Brewery fairly regularly. The beer is the main reason especially the forbidden fruit for myself. My girlfriend and I stopped by the Vermont Pub and Brewery this past weekend on an overnight in Burlington VT. We have experienced many brewpubs and breweries in New England and looked forward to this place, as it was one of the first brewpubs in New England. Sorry to say, the beer was not that good. Food was ok. Price was good for the area. Had to wait for a seat. Very dark inside and cramped seating. Good variety on the menu. more

The food was ok, beer sub par. The soup was cold (chicken soup in a brown broth), sent it back. The spinach salad had more potential and it bothered my stomach. Food was extremely cheap and good too. Burger could cost $5, which is amazing. Large portions and friendly service would make me go back. I wish they would make a smoking section outside instead of all outside being smoking. But overall a very good meal. more
Great brew pub, with some good beers and very friendly and informative brewers! Food was quite average, but definitely worth a visit to sample the beers :-) more

I can understand why VPB's rating isn't as high as I think it should be. As a frequent diner there, and as one with a mostly vegetarian diet and sensitive to fried foods, I can say that I only eat the spinach salad topped with the tequila salmon, honey glazed salmon entree and occasionally get the Ploughman's Lunch to share... more
