nice breakfast place with a great ambiance, the coffee was a bit watery, but the orange juice was great, the french toast was fresh and the banana buckwheat pancakes were amazing, service was good and it was very nice of them to seat us quickly instead of making us wait, the food was pretty pricey for breakfast but everything was... more

Oh my GOSH! My husband & I had breakfast at Penny Cluse Cafe this morning and it IS the best breakfast in the Northeast! In fact, it's probably the best breakfast I've ever eaten. The orange juice tasted freshly squeezed, the coffee and tea were great. We couldn't resist trying the banana bread with maple walnut cream cheese...the bread was... more

When travelling, breakfast is my favorite meal. I have travelled New England quite extensively and I find myself coming back to Burlington time and time again just so I can have breakfast here. It really is that good. You cannot over hype it. As breakfasts go, it is a little pricey, but well worth every cent. You can tell they... more

We had two breakfasts here during our stay in Burlington and both were the best we've had in the USA (and we've travelled pretty extensively). You may have to queue but it is worth it. more

My husband and I were in Burlington just overnight on business. We had breakfast at Penny Cluse Cafe and enjoyed it greatly. It's rare to find buckwheat pancakes (which we both love) on menus, and at Penny Cluse Cafe, we both had buckwheat blueberry pancakes with lots of blueberries and high quality Vermont maple syrup. The meal was excellent. The... more

Food was excellent but keep in mind the waiting is bad. We waited more than hour, people that left the restaurant or immediate area never lost their waiting turn when they were called. Instead of erasing them they were left in the list and if they came back an hour later they could claim their original turn. They should start... more

Much more than your standard breakfast fare. A little of something for everyone. I had the Zydeco breakfast (andouille sausage, scrambled eggs, black beans & corn muffins) my wife had one of the specials that day, cornbread french toast with rhubarb chutney. We were very pleased with our food. If I had a breakfast place like this near me, I... more

We went today (7/19/09) at 10am....but had to wait until 11am for a table for two. So expect a long wait, especially on weekends or Sunday morning. So, was the food worth the wait? Overall I would say yes. I had the Zydeco Breakfast which was two eggs, black beans, andouille sausage and corn muffins. Very tasty. My wife had... more

I had the Mama Cruz’s Huevos Rancheros and my wife had the 3-Egg Omelet with feta. Everything was perfect. The service and the food were great. This is a clean lovely place. You can tell the food was not off a production line. In one word it was " perfect ". Search Google for their menu. more

Just returned from our first trip to Burlington. Being there 2 mornings we decided to go to Penny Cluse the first day and had a couple of options for the next. Never got to either one of the others. We enjoyed the first day so much that we returned to the Penny Cluse on the next morning. We weren't disappointed.... more
