We ate at Black Sheep Bistro several times during a week long stay in the area. Everything was very good. Our favorite apps: summer rolls made of shredded jicama and apple wrapped in rice paper, and seasoned with some vinegar served with a dipping sauce. The food was pretty good but they sat us in the middle of the floor next to a beam where there was NO room and people bumped us all night. Horrible horrible experience. more

Great value French restaurant in lovely Vergennes. Wines are a good deal. Don't go here if you are on the Atkins Diet--the mashed potatoes and French fries will throw you off kilter. more

The Black Sheep Bistro was an excellent restaurant I'd go to again and again. Although the place was packed (be sure to make a reservation) the service was attentive and friendly. My husband had to wait for them to change the tap on the beer he ordered and they brought him his second choice on the house to make up... more

In general, Vermont restaurants are not very creative or sophisticated in terms of cuisine. This is changing, but slowly. Black Sheep Bistro surprised the socks off of me. My wife and I had a wonderful meal at the Black Sheep. The relaxed atmosphere, varied menu, and attentive service was a welcome experience after spending a blustery and challenging day sailing on Lake Champlain. more

The Black Sheep Bistro is an awesome place to eat. It has excellent food, service and atmosphere at very reasonable prices. Their bistro menu offers new choices with each visit. Make reservations well in advance -- its worth the wait. more

5 stars on quality for a small town in Vermont. Meets NYC standards, the french fries are perfect, nice atmosphere, service with a smile, and amazing selection of fish dishes. A must stop for anyone going to Vermont - worth the trip from Burlington! more

The first time my husband and I ate at The Black Sheep Bistro we were very impressed with the food. We went back a few months later and again had a wonderful meal. It was surprising to have such a great dinner in small city Vergennes, VT. more
