Been going here for 50 years and the food has never been NASTY???The food has been great every time and it is nowhere near $30 !!to eat??? I don't know where the out of town Joe went but it was not Smitty' Better Burger!! TJ more
I went here with my wife as I heard it was a local classic. We had a rental car with New York plates so maybe that is why we waited forever for one of the servers to come after she and her colleagues served a number of cars that came AFTER us. When the food finally came it was nasty... more

I grew up in Hampton and Smitty's has the best burgers anywhere! There's something different about them that I've never tasted anywhere else. Prices are very reasonable and definitely NOT $30 per person as listed...more like fast food prices. more
Please make sure if you are in Hampton, VA, that you make this establishment a "must see-must do"! First impressions of this little slice of heaven are deceiving. The building and setup retains its look from the 1950's. Don't be foolish as i did and let this be a deterrent! I had known about this place for about 3 years... more
Remember when cooks had to make their own burgers? Form the patty, flavor the beef? Smitty's hasn't changed this for the past several decades. My husband knew about this place from when he was little, and took me here to "wow" me our first trip to Hampton. We have to come here every time we're in town!! more
