We've stopped at Elwood at Sparks a few times on our way to/from Charlottesville and have always been impressed. Lunch is tasty without being over the top. Haven't tried dinner yet, but the menu looks fantastic. A great little gem in the VA countryside! more

My wife and I each had an appetizer (hummus and lobster bisque) an entree (prime rib and paella) and shared a dessert (apple crisp). The hummus and prime were excellent, the lobster bisque was very good but the paella was not worth ordering. If you go, get an earlier reservation (before 8pm) as some of the specials were already gone... more

My wife and I have lived in Orange, Virginia for 3 years, and we own and operate a bed and breakfast here in town. Both we and our inn guests have eaten at every restaurant in Orange numerous times, and our guests are usually happy to share their experiences with us. Without question, Elmwood at Sparks is a guest favorite... more

I eat dinner at Elmwood at Sparks fairly often. The quality of the food compares favorably to the best restaurants in Charlottesville, Culpeper, or Fredericksburg. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the owner, Randy Cooper, is always on site to address any concerns. My wife insists that the trout entrees are the best trout she has eaten anywhere. If... more

When we found out Montpelier's cafe had just cold sandwiches on this brisk autumn day, I got on my blackberry to the trusty tripadvisor site and found gleaming reviews---and I will have to agree. The meal was truly something you would expect in downtown Richmond to Charleston---and to find this gem in Orange! My husband had the shrimp penne that... more

I was surprised to find such a top-notch quality restaurant in the small historic town of Orange. Went here for dinner and just couldn't stop eating! I ordered the entree of the day, a trout stuffed with crab meat, and grilled vegetables on the side. Each bite was amazing and clearly they only use the freshest ingredients. Highly recommended! more

Food was great. We went for a late lunch. I had quiche and soup and my wife had a salad with salmon. All of it was beautifully prepared and delicious. Restaurant was impeccably clean and very reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful. more

I've been here a few times for lunch and had great sandwiches, salads, and quiches. But I came here for my birthday dinner back in October and the chicken with crusted goat cheese, orzo, and broccoli I ordered was so salty it was barely edible and gave me a headache. I wasn't impressed at all, I'll stick to lunch from... more

The only upper-scale restaurant in the town of Orange. There is a great chef and the menu changes every week. more

A lovely, sun-filled room and delicious gourmet food. Fantastic soups, silky quiches and a terrific portabella mushroom sandwich. Great place for lunch if you are visiting James Madison's Montpelier or the Barboursville Winery. more
