Not a fancy four or five star restaurant. The atmosphere, that is. we went there about 2 years ago and had a horrible experience--slow service and I ordered the most expensive thing on the menu and when I got it it was overcooked and missing some of the main ingredients which apparently they tried to replace with some of the worst (it was a seafood thing...I was missing clams and scallops and... more
We had a very good meal there, however, you may consider sharing a meal as we had so much left over. I had the spaghetti bolognese and my husband had the penne pasta. We did manage to keep them cold on the trip home and had them for dinner that night. more

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in the Roanoke area. Great food and service. I highly recommend Mama Maria's. more
