I live in the DC Metro area with all kinds of access to all kinds of great cheeses, etc. We got a loaf of warm French Bread, wine and a cheese plate. My husband wanted one particular kind of cheese and I asked the staff to choose the other 2 cheeses to compliment the one my husband wanted. They knocked... more

If you do not live in an area with access to lots of different cheeses and like cheese, try The Cheese Shop. I live outside of Washington, DC with access many stores/restaurants with a large selection of cheeses. The selection was very good (and pricey). The staff is one of the draws to The Cheese Shop. They are helpful, willingly... more

Great sandwiches. Wouldn't visit Williamsburg without stopping by for a sandwich with the special dressing. Actually, it has become one of the reasons we frequently visit Wburg. Food is always fresh and staff is always friendly. more

It was a wonderful treat to our trip. We caught the shuttle bus at the back of the Welcome Center in Colonial Williamsburg. We got off at Merchants Square and found the Cheese Shop. The folks behide the cheese counter were very friendly and helpful. We ordered a cheese plate to go and sandwiches from the back of the shop.... more

Delicious selection of sandwiches prepared to order with "to die for" homemade bread. Be certain to order their homemade sauce on your sandwich. The Smithfield ham with Havarti was a crowd pleaser for our group. Mainly take-out. Tables outside and there are nice picnic tables elsewhere in the vicinity. more

OK, it's a deli, so how enthusiastic can you be about the food and service? Well, first it was packed with locals having lunch (always a good sign). There were people everywhere on this lovely, sunny day. Outdoor seating was at a premium but we located a place and plunked down. We could have stayed a long time except for... more

I was excited to go here because it was so highly rated. In reality, it was jam-packed with people, and since it's a deli, you have to stand in the crowd for about 20 minutes to get your food. The inside is cute, but it's hard to enjoy with so many people bumping into each other. We each got a... more

We ate at the pleasant area in front of the restaurant at an outdoor table. The sandwiches were okay, but the service was very slow. It seemed to take forever for our sandwiches to be prepared. One orders at a counter inside. Admittedly it was crowded. Go, if you want to sit and relax outside, and if you have a... more
