There was a hair in my dinner. I reported it to our waiter, and he said, "do you want me to take this off the bill?" Did he not know to not charge me for foul food??? My husband ordered coffee and the cup had lipstick on it. We were charged full price for the dinner (minus my sandwich and... more

Went to Madeline's on a Friday night and it was really a mixed experience. The hostess was very cold in seating us and forgot to send a waiter or menus our way. By the time we finally got menus and a waiter quit a bit of time had passed. The place was packed, hot, and VERY noisy. It was louder... more

This is my favorite restaurant in Morgantown. The menu is innovative, and the food is always excellent. Madeline's is a nice mixture of upscale and casual, and the service is always excellent. Some of my favorite menu items are the seared scallops with risotto cake, balsamic chicken and gnocchi, and spinach salad. They also have a rotating menu of specials,... more

I am a "regular" at Madeline's and have dined here since the restaurant opened about 8 years ago. The food is very good, inventive, not the same old thing that you always find and is priced very very well. The atmosphere is lacking though and they do need to totally redo it - take a lead from Sargasso's. They finally... more

I hate to be a dissenter here, but I find Madeline's food very unimpressive. The atmosphere is okay, but I would not take anyone here who I was trying to impress--everything is somewhat rough around the edges. Its redeeming factors are the fact that it is open later, and, generally, the food is okay and would appeal to almost anyone.... more

Our first dining experience was nothing less than spectacular. We ordered entrees of seared strip steak with grilled summer veggies, and delectable shrimp scamp. Service was prompt, and the wait-staff very friendly. We passed up the extensive wine list and opted for our favorite beer, Pilsner Urquell! So rarely available in restaurants. We loved the eclectic decor of many varied... more

Restaurant is located on High St (Morgantown's version of Main St) in an old retail building. Where mannequins once adorned the window area inside, tables now are set up on the stage next to the windows. The furnishings are scarce, but tasteful. Looks better at night than the day. Let's face it, do we really care if the food is... more

We're new to Morgantown, and being kind of particular about where we eat, we researched the options -- Madeline's was conspicuously lacking its own web site, and we couldn't find anything detailed. However, "creative menu" was enough to get us downtown to take a look. We weren't disappointed. The decor is a combination of college-town hipster and catfish shack --... more
