Based on all the reviews, we had to try this restaurant and we were extremely disappointed. I didn't expect much as far a looks, but I prefer something cleaner. Also the food was only mediocre. Though the prices are good for Hawaii, still paid too much for what we got. The coffee was the worst I've had in many years... more

We probably wouldn't have gone all the way to Waimea for breakfast, but we had planned to see the Paniolo parade last Saturday and so we just had to work the Hawaiian Style Cafe into the schedule. Everyone seems to enjoy this local eatery, and we did too. The place does seem to stay busy so be prepared to wait... more

The best breakfast in Kamuela and among the three best breakfasts on the Big Island (Ken's House of Pancakes in Hilo; and Big Island Grill in Kailua-Kona). It's a small place and can be intimidating to non-locals. A counter and a few tables -- that's all but the food is "onolicious" -- the portions are huge. So if you're staying... more

The place definitely is a hole in the wall but such a hidden gem. My wife and I honeymooned at The Orchid at Mauna Lani and decided there must be cheaper places to eat...where the locals go. Wandering up to Waimea, we stumbled across the Cafe. The first time we ordered two plate lunches to go and were overwhelmed by... more

Wow, here's a place to visit. Portions bigger than my daughter's head. Hawaiian Loco Moco, Sweetbread French Toast, Biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and sausage. We walked into a very local looking place; a storefront in Waimea. We felt a little out of place and awkward but the lady behind the counter helped us feel at home by smiling... more

So many good reviews here, so I won't belabor the same good points. Look, you get plenty of great food at a very reasonable price. If you like breakfast, like Hawaiian style, and want this to be your big meal of the day, this is the place to go. The service is good and friendly especially for an upcountry "local"... more

You come here for the local Hawaiian atmosphere and the generous helpings of local style food. The food is essentially diner fare with a heap of generosity added. Friendly service and a lot of local regulars make this a must go to kind of place. You can have lunch or breakfast at any time.....and the sides of pancakes are famous. more

This restaurant came highly recommended by many locals as the best breakfast around, so we decided to check it out. Even though it was nearly 10:30, there were people milling around outside the door. Apparently there was a wait list that you were supposed to put your name down on, but there was no sign for the list or anyone... more

Came highly recommended from a friend in San Diego. Was he right. Excellent food for a reasonable price. The first day I had the 'Big Mok', a Loco Moco with spam, Portuguese Sausage, and breakfast sausage instead of the traditional hamburger patty. One of the many variations they had. The second day I had a Kalua pig omelet with hashbrowns... more
