If you enjoy eating with a lot of tourist it is OK. Food is as good as it can be under the conditions. The views from the beach are great, especially the sun setting over the cove at the Mauna Kea. A better view of the sunset with more privacy is on their signature par 3 hole over the ocean... more

We were tipped off to this event by a local resident on our plane ride over, and we weren't disappointed! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing - on the beach, with the sun setting in the background - what more could you want?! They supplied a small Hawaiian band, who took requests - we ended up dancing... more

The setting of the clambake on the beach of the lovely Mauna Kea Resort on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island is fantastic. There were not a great deal of selections other than lobster however - and the lobsters are served WHOLE, split down the middle, guts and all spilling into your plate. This effectively rendered our daughter without... more
