We both really enjoyed our meal at Galyn's. It was pricy, but very good. I had scallops which were very fresh and delicious. My husband had a pasta dish which we really liked. I had a chocolate dessert which was wonderful and we both had wine. Staff was attentive and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere to celebrate our Anniversary. more

One of the local merchants recommended Galyn's and after peeking at the menu outside decided to take a chance. we had a party of 5. when we arrived on a fall Sunday afternoon in mid Sept. the male server was o.k.; almost unfriendly . the portions are extremely small at moderate prices for a "lunch". they make an unworthy claim to having a great seafood chowder (a choice of appetizer for some).unfortunately poor boy was not open until later... more

We had a delicious meal. Both of us had the lobster. It was cooked to perfection. For dessert we had the cheesecake. We sat on the front enclosed porch with a view of the harbor. more

We ate here twice during our stay in Bar Harbor. Very good service and great food. We had a hard time finding a good restuarnat in Bar Harbor. There are lots of pub type places with burgers and fries, and we were even disappointed with some of them. Galyn's has great salads (very fresh), steaks and of course lobster. Wine... more

OMG, SOooo bad!!! Waitress "Lucy," Yawned while taking our order. When she presented the check she actually said " looking forward to seeing the tip" Food was not fit, service worse. Never again. Bar Harbor is a great destination with plenty of wonderful restaurants. Don't waste a second on this one. 9:00 WE WERE BEING USHERED OUT. more

We felt lucky to get a "porch" table downstairs on a recent Saturday evening visit. It was our first time to Galyn's, and it was fantastic. We shared everything -- lobster biscuits (absolutely divine), lobster tails and prime rib. Side dishes were excellent. For dessert, ghiradelli chocolate creme brulee. Waitress from Hades. Acted as though she was better than the customers. Food was so-so & hugely overpriced. Wine prices exhorbitant. $5 for an iced tea. There are a lot of better places to eat in Bar Harbor...skip this joint. more
