We split a breadfast order and still had to take some of the delicious food home with us. Seating capacity is about 50, so be prepared to wait. Best time to arrive for a no-wait breakfast is around 7:15 a.m.--before the doors open at 7:30. Service was about what you would expect in a busy, no-frills cafe: hurried and not... more

You'll always see a long line in front of this place, but it's worth the wait. We waited for 45min, so not that bad. Must order: Blueberry Cornmeal Pancake Breakfast set: Southwestern meal more

Huge portions of homemade greatness. It was featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," and it lives up (or down!) to that description. Yup, there's a line (45 minutes?) and it's a tiny place and you might be a little closer to the neighbor's table than you might like. ... But whatever you get, it'll be scrumptious. ... Be sure to... more

It was VERY long line to get in but worth every bit of it! The food was tasty and the portion was huge! The pastries looked fastastic but just didn't have the stomach space for it at the end. Not good for big parties though. more

We waited on the sidewalk for 45 minutes with luggage in hand on the way to the airport, and it was sooo worth it. Had the smoked salmon scramble with a coconut honey muffin, yummmmmm. My husband had the southwest frittata which was equally good. Can't wait to go back San Fran just to have breakfast here. more

We went to Dotties after reading the fantastic reviews on tripadvisor, so had huge expectations. Dotties didn't let us down. The pancakes are the lightest, fluffliest and biggest pancakes I've ever laid my eyes on and their home fried potatoes were just yummy. We only had to wait 15 mins at the most and it was well worth the wait... more

Everyone spoke about how long the wait is at this place. Yes there was a line but it wasnt horrible. Actually we were in line for about 20-30 minutes but believe me....the breakfast is well worth the wait. The place is small (literally) but cozy with about 10 small tables in a small room and also a grillside counter with... more

My colleague and I were in the city for the US Conference on AIDS recently and Dottie's was thankfully just a few short block from our hotel, so we were able to make several trips to this little 10-table slice of heaven. A line will form out the door, but the tables generally turn around quickly. We had no wait... more

Great place for brunch if you mind the wait in the tenderloin. I LOVE the pancakes here. I've fluffy, with a hint of cinnamon and ginger, and sooo delicious. If you live around here, I'd suggest buying to go and eating in your room. Alternatively, on the wknd you can go there close to 2pm and not wait very long... more

Oh, the oh-so-notorious wait. We woke up early one Sunday morning on our last visit to SF and decided to brave the line to try the famous Dotties. Am I glad we did it? Sure. I think it's an experience. Will I do it again next time I'm in SF? Not sure about that. The food is definitely good and... more
