Sure, there are lots of tourists, it can get crowded, and the food is nothing special. But if you can get a seat at the bar you can watch them pour the Irish Coffees all day. more

Sitting in the window of the Buena Vista Café that looks out across the bay and onto the Powell and Hyde Street Cable Car turn around is a fabulous setting to have breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner. How can you go to SF and not take the cable car to the base of Hyde Street and visit Buena Vista Cafe? Sure a simple Irish Coffee is $7 bucks but nothing is cheap in SF. Make sure you sit a the bar late in the evening and watch the house specialty be made a dozen at a time! more

Great for weekend mornings. Breakfast is so-so, but the Irish coffees are TO DIE FOR. Nothing like getting your buzz started early. PS - waiteresses smell like formaldihide more
