it was a pool hall, then fine dining restaurant, a wine snob's haven, a biker bar, a local hangout. i've heard that the food and service has been fantastic at times, but when we went in it was dirty, loud, with insultingly indifferent service and spectacularly lousy food. keep going either to boonsboro or shepherdstown. more

After getting into town we were looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat. Captain Benders Tavern was just down the street. It was clean. The food was good and very reasonably priced. We both had a Pannini. The service was quick and the staff was very friendly. We would definitley eat here again. more
