We had such high expectations for this restaurant, having read about Barbara Lynch and her restaurant successes. We got the tasting menu, with wine which was $160 per person. Out of the 7 courses, some were tasty, some were bland. None were spectacular. The foie gras was nice, but a bit sweet, surrounded by what appeared to be cookie crumbs,... more

This restaurant has been on my "want to go" list for years, and I'm afraid it didn't quite meet my grand expectations. Perhaps we landed here on an "off night". We were off to a bad start when we had to wait 40 minutes for our table. We both ordered from the Prix Fixe menu and my beet appetizer with... more

Was fantastic - living up to all of my expectations. Had the full tasting menu which was definitely worth it - exquisitely matched wines. more

We were eating our way across Boston’s fine dining scene using the James Beard culinary awards winners and nominees as a guide. This one was the most bitter disappointment, in part due to our high expectations. Barbara Lynch won her award in 2003, but things seemed as wrong as the dusty medal hanging askew in their entry way. First, we... more

Another american restaurant that tries awful hard to do "gourmet" and comes up way short. The presentation was good, but the food simply did not measure up. Loud, but what else is new in upscale Boston restuarants? more

My husband and I ate here on a business/leisure trip to Boston. It's location is easy to find. The ambiance was really nice-dimly lit with neutral greys and soft lighting. We started out at the bar and had lovely conversations with local couples. The bartender was superb with excellent wine choices. The food was excellent. Everyone working at the restaraunt... more

We ate at both No. 9 Park and Atlantic Fish (the #1 rated restaurant on this list as of this writing) on successive nights -- Atlantic is very fine, but if you are a food lover, No. 9 Park is just extraordinary. As a small example, the butter served with the bread comes from only one cow, owned by the... more

Sorry for not having been there in a long time, but last time I was there it was tremendous. Cannot tell you what we had as it was a tasting menu. The wine list was a stand out. Interestingly they did not have a sommelier, but the staff was great in helping us decide. I am not a big fan... more

I have been to many top notch restaurants in Boston, but usually they are not worth the money. I have to admit that No 9 and its chef lived up to the reputation. I had the prix fixe menu, and the portions were European size (smaller) and perfect. The specialty of the chef, plum gnocchi, were melt-in-your mouth pillowy pellets... more

We just celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary by dining at No 9 Park. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. the food was wonderful. On the waiters recommendation we somewhat tentatively ordered the prune-filled gnocchi with fois gras. so glad we did--it was amazing. but then so was everything we ate that night. We had originally planned to select... more
