Really enjoyed the drinks and music in this place I started my night out in here with a great wiskey! Locals where great to talk to in there!
This place has drink strong and an old 1930s bar feel. Unfortunately the prices are not 1930s style - usually $16 a cocktail. There is no substantial food here - so come only if you want a good drink. Two drinks will probably get you pretty toasty. This place received 5 stars because it was so unique and they prepare... Had recently paid a visit here and it were like walking in to a morgue. You could hear a pin drop. There was no atmosphere at all and the prices of drinks were so expensive for the surroundings they offer. Drinks in the W next to the hotel would be cheaper then having drinks here and at least you would... More
Happened in, based upon a random web search. Spent hours listening to great ragtime/early 20's-40's music. Musicians were amazing. Had several Dark and Stormy with Zacapa 23 and an extra shot on the side (no judging; 4+ hours). Consistent drinks; great bartenders. Stick your head in and check this place out. Best unexpected part of my 8 days in NYC.
Stayed at the Hotel Edison and it is right down stairs from where the elevators were,so had a few drinks before going to bed. It is a small place and very crowded. Tables to close to each other and service not as good. When you are done with one drink you dont want to have to wait to order a... More
We called for a quick drink after a busy day and after being totally ignored for approximately 10 minutes when we were served our drinks were virtually thrown at us and for a gin & tonic and a pint of beer $19 was demanded not asked for demanded. We thought America is renowned for its service but not here.Go elsewhere.
We were staying at the Edison Hotel and on our way back heard the music so just popped in to have a look. 3 hours later we were still there listening to the most amazing music. musicians just kept coming, pulling up a seat and playing and 3 fabulous singers joined them at various stages. This was an experience I... More
Had a night cap in here one night, Live Music on most nights, may not be to every ones taste, problems getting a table as most seemed to be Bkd, but staff tried best to accomadate us, actully moved us 3 times. Visit once, but lots of other places to see, try Hells Kitchen, 46th street, for a more NY... More
This beautiful little club (Time Square Escape) adjoining the Hotel Edison is the perfect night cap. No telling who you will meet at the bar.... from lovely British tourists to Don Draper himself. (Yes they have Old Fashions on the drink menu). A jazz duo frequently plays around 10. Favorite cocktail is the Tortuga which is dark rum, muddled citrus,... More
Small, dark, but good atmoshpere! Ivan is a great barman, others a little 'sour' faced!! Can be a little pricey compared to local Irish bars, but the music makes it a fun night out!
