Gavroche offers a prix fixe menu until 6:40 PM for $20 (the prix fixe is cash only, though they do accept credit cards for other meals), which is one of the best deals to be had at a French restaurant in Manhattan. On the outside it just looks like any other restaurant on 14th street, red checkered tableclothes and a tight room but if you go when the weather is nice you are lead down a long corridor into the most beautiful open courtyard, with ivy growing up the brick walls and provencal table clothes. Cute french restaurant - a must. Great quality at medium range prices, try the "tatin de chevre" (goat cheese & potato upside down quiche) as a starter, then anything is good as an entree : coq au vin, lamb chops... Deserts are great too. The garden is the place to be for a relaxing dinner in summertime :) more
