You pay around $30 including fries which were cold and not crispy. It's self-service which was ok but at least make sure everything is done to the standard and price I paid for. This place is expensive and a disappointment!!
This is one of those hidden in plain sight sort of places that everyone now knows about, still it’s a quirky experience going through the hotel and behind the curtain to reveal the hidden world. Burgers were very good and overall a worthwhile experience.
Visit here every time we come to New York. this time, the burger joint had moved from its previously location to across the other side of hotel to a bigger location. totally understand why as vey popular. It is nice that it has maintained the...same ambience as before. We had a burger and a cheese burger , both as lovely as always. Okay , they might cost more than a McDonalds but they taste a damn sight better. Place gets very busy at times but we were lucky and got a table straightaway. We will be backMore
Having done some research into places to grab food whilst we were in New York, we came across this 'speak-easy' concept and were keen to check it out. I'm not sure about anyone else but it always feels a little strange walking into a hotel...that you are not staying at nor have ever stayed at, whether looking for some directions, a toilet or better yet a hidden burger bar! After finding our way to the red curtain it was no longer so hidden by the line of people creeping around it waiting to order and get a table! Its a really cool concept that's for sure and the whole venture is a, order your food at the till, grab a table and collect your food when called kind of situation. There is no table service. Getting a table is KEY! When we were queuing we did sadly see a few obnoxious people that were maybe 5th or 6th in the queue grab tables when someone stood up despite there not being anywhere for the people in front of them. This only ends up holding up the queue as people have to inevitably stand around and wait for someone else to finish before they can sit down during busy periods. The burgers themselves were pretty good, well loaded up and well cooked. There are a few options that can be added and for the fact they are midtown Manhattan they are relatively well priced. It is worth saying however that fries and drinks are extra therefore it can soon mount up. The staff were all friendly despite being incredibly busy and the order came exactly as expected, all the attention to detail was there so no complaints from us for sure! The quality of the food was great and we left feeling very full and content for our next stroll through midtown!More
It’s hard to ruin a decent burger unless it’s burned, greasy, undercooked or not to your specifications. Fortunately, I got exactly what I ordered and the burger was fine, but expensive considering sides are extra, which includes lettuce, tomato, onions and pickle, which they call...“the works.” So when all was said and done, I ended up paying almost $20 for a burger with the works. I didn’t even get any fries with that order or a beverage. When I asked for a cup of tap water I was directed to a water fountain, but still didn’t get a cup, so I had to wait until I finished eating to get something to drink. To add insult to injury, the guy taking the order had the nerve to swing the tablet around after taking my order for me to enter a tip amount! For what?? There was no table service-you order at the counter and then they call your name to come pick it up when it’s ready and you look for a seat or take it with you. Needless to say, considering the cost and the service, I won’t be going back nor could I recommend.More
Moderately priced burgers in an expensive city. The burgers are nice, but nothing special. You line up to order then grab a table. There’s no table service so I guess that keeps the prices down.
Really good burger and awesome coke slaw. You have to go through a red curtain to find the place. Prices aren’t bad for a NYC restaurant.
We were staying at the Thompsons hotel & decided to eat at the Burger Joint at the same location behind the red curtain. Lady serving seemed distracted & when our food arrived we were unable to distinguish between a single cheeseburger & a double hamburger....Burgers were a wet sloppy mess & sweet potato fries were unpleasant & completely cold. Restaurant seemed popular & setting is quirky but for fast food it was expensive & sadly was the worst food we had eaten on our New York trip.More
This is the fun place with Perfect hamburgers Good and fast serving Clean envirement It is located in the hotel behind a red curtai
Burger Joint has been my hands down favorite burger for as many years as it’s been in existence. The burger has always been consistently perfect. Unfortunately since their expansion and move that’s no longer the case. The perfect grilled burger flavor seems to be MIA....The chef told me that the grill and all the kitchen equipment are new and I suspect that might be the issue. I’ve now been there twice since the move to the other side of the Thompson (ex Parker Meridian) Hotel and the burger each time was consistently mediocre. I guess all good things come to an end, but this is very sad.More
GREAT, great as always. The best burger in Manhattan. Period. It’s in the same location but the hotel has changed. The Joint is in a new space, opposite where it used to be but still within the hotel. The new place is more spacious, bigger...and more comfortable. Though the old place is missed.More
Heard about that place with lots of compliments, but as big as the expectations were, so was the disappointment. A small dry burger.
The burger was actually quite good, fries slightly subpar. What a rate is it higher except the greeter, in charge of the cash, was unbelievably rude. Also, he was obviously higher than a kite. Perhaps this gives a new meeting to the name of the...restaurant, “The Joint.” If I were the owner of this establishment, this fellow would be looking for new employment. Quite unfortunate because the rest of the staff look to be hard-working and doing their job correctly.More
It was my first time eating at Burger Joint, but to say the least I was not disappointed. The fries were great and the burger was exceptional. The only thing I would complain about was the wait time. Luckily, we got there before the rush,...but we still waited for what felt like a long time. Overall, good food and fun and unique environment. Would come againMore
