Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were delighted to find this rooftop bar open (mostly closed during our prior visits cuz of the pandemic). On the early evening when we visIted, this nice, relaxing place was packed with happy guests; virtually all tables or seating spaces were reserved (via open...table app I was told). The main attraction no doubt is the fantastic view of the majestic Empire State Building nearby. A solo guitarist provided soothing unobtrusive musical entertainment. Patrick offered excellent attentive service. My companion proclaimed the Cote de Roses Pinot Noir sublime. I liked that they serve non alcoholic beer. This bar serves light snacks as well.More

Stayed here for recent trip to city to see bway play. Location is perfect just a short walk to theaters. Rooms are big for city and well appointed. Nice lobby bar and fantastic lounge at top of building with magnificent view of Empire State. Staff...very friendly and helpful. Stay was very enjoyable and would recommend here for stay in NewYork. Easy to get everywhere.More

I was sold on this restaurant by reviews about the location and view of the tree and rink. My title says it all. Yes, it is hard to find and you will not find it unless you have been specifically told HOW to find it....Walking through the cafeteria setting is confusing and plop! There it is! A few tables set up in the corner. As was previously said, no ambiance. Menu is limited. Food is ok - nothing to go out of your way for. Rolls are served with olive oil/balsamic (no flavor). We had the tuna tartare - so much potential, again, so little flavor. Main course - hubby had scallops, he says "they were good". I had Asian short rib, very tender but dry (how you can make a short rib dry, I don't know!). My daughter had a lobster BLT - she was looking forward to. In her words, "you could take out the lobster, and wouldn't know the difference". Place should be renamed "Pulseless".More

I attended a private party during Christmas time and it was very difficult to get there due the crowded Rockefeller Center attractions. It was worth for the view, hors d'oeuvre were ok (some good, some fair) and drinks were fine as well. Space was good...enough for some standing tables and 160-180 pplMore

Everything about Pulse is a bit off, starting with its entrance through Equinox sign-posted Rock center doors, to its confusing cafeteria seating and deli-type counter entrance on the 3rd floor to its completely empty (on a sunny Monday afternoon) restaurant seating area. The plusses--it is...empty, the menu of your typical American/Asian infused fare is respectable, the service prompt and attentive (how can it not be when you are the only pair of customers throughout the lunch.) The salads are fresh and good and if you are in a mood to have a nice chat in an empty hidden restaurant in mid-town, this is clearly the place. The minuses--hard to find and no ambiance.More

This restaurant is next to a health club. There is a deli counter, a bar and a small "restaurant" area. I made reservations through OpenTable for the restaurant but there was no host and no one using the restaurant side of the facility. The salads...we ordered at the deli counter were OK - nothing special. The views are nothing special.More

This restaurant is very very small and next to a smelly cafeteria. The tables and chairs look like old hotel banquet room chairs. There are only 4 tables with a view of the tree at Rockefeller Center.

Do you want to enjoy the sight of the giant Christmas tree and the ice skating rink without being jostled in the throngs of people crowding Rockefeller Plaza? Treat yourself to a nice lunch at Pulse! We went a little early (1130am) and had the...place mostly to ourselves. I had the vegan soup of the day and the veggie dumplings, both of which were excellent, but the real draw here is the view. It can be a little hard to find, you have to go through a door that is labeled for something else, and then turn left on the third floor after you enter the space to find the host stand, but it's well worth it!More

I had a business lunch here in November 2015. We arrived before 12 noon so it was not yet crowded. We had a table in the back near a window where it was quiet. The food and service were excellent. I had chick pea and...spinach soup and a Greek salad. The restaurant is located across from Rockefeller Center. By the time we left it was crowded and a bit noisy. If you want to go here for business, I recommend getting here between 11:30 am and 12 noon.More

I attended a reunion in one of the private rooms. The bartender was not trained. He was just a guy who thought a whiskey punch was kool aid and whiskey. The food was inedible. We could have catered it better from the frozen snack section...at the supermarket. So not worth the money. The only plus was the location.More

I was in NYC on business, working at Rockefeller center, so I came to Pulse with some coworkers for lunch to try to have a healthy lunch. This café is on the 3rd floor in the Equinox building, and mostly serves people coming from the...gym, or business people in the area. As such, it is quick and healthy and not very busy, so it made a good lunch spot for several days. However, it seems like the amount of food you get vastly depends on whether you're eating in or taking food to go. I ordered lunch twice where the portions were bountiful and then had breakfast one day to go and had to argue with the staff about whether or not I'm allowed potatoes with my omelet (for the record, the menu said, all omelets are served with toast, potatoes, and greens). Yet, my omelet came out without anything and I had to fight with them to give me some stuff to go. As long as you don't mind inconsistencies with their menu items and sub-par customer service, this place definitely has some healthy food options for the business person on the go.More

I was very excited about coming to Pulse because of all the good reviews, however, first it was quite hard to find, then when we found it , the first part of the restaurant is a take out venue for the employees of the building...it seems, then there is a small part in the back with maybe 8 tables, we arrived there waited about a good 5 minutes before the lonely waiter that doubled as a bar tender came over to seat us.......the menu was nice, the food was exceptionally good, but this little place really lacks atmosphere, there are two small windows overlooking Rockefeller center if u are more than two you couldn't sit at these windows.....so exceptionally good food, one lonely waiter / bar tender and no one else..... I might go again for the food if i was having lunch with someone indifferent, i must say the waiter realized we waited so long so he brought a fruit plate free for desert.More

This is a I semi formal restaurant with great views of the Rockefeller Plaza. Although service was excellent, there is room for improvement in the food preparation. They serve rolls with oil and vinegar as an appetizer. Some of the rolls were stale. Someone in...the restaurant thinks that "balsamic vinegar" is a great deal, because they overwhelm the otherwise good olive oil. We ordered a salmon salad, which was served on a bed of arugula. The salmon was good, as well as the salad, however, again they put excessive vinegar in the salad which ruined the great salmon dish. I went with a group of friends about 16 in total. Service was excellent, the waiter was very accommodating even writing separate checks for all of us!!!. I will give it a second try if they avoid the balsamic vinegar altogether.More

Wanted somewhere a bit different and special for my wife's birthday meal (actually, had to be extra special as her birthday got belated due to my work commitments) - Pulse looked like it hit the spot with it's view over Rockerfeller Plaza - at that...time of year with the ice skating rink going. Of course, I could not guarantee getting a great view but I booked well in advance and explained the circumstances and hoped for the best. Our waiter, James, and his team went above and beyond the call of duty to make my wife's birthday meal special. Champagne cocktails on arrival, the best seats in the house with a perfect view of the plaza, and then a birthday cake with candles and a chorus of "happy birthday" to finish. Really could not have asked for more. Food and service was great across the board, cannot recommend highly enough!More
