Large TVs in the unorganized dinning area along with rather bland food made our visit here a one time only experience. We were excited to find Puerto Rican restaurant here in Jacksonville. We stopped for lunch one weekend and each ordered something new. The entrees were quite expensive ($15) and the quality of the meat was poor, the sauces were very salty and the monfongos were inedible. more
Our receptionist at the Fairfield Inn in Orange Park recommended this restaurant when we asked for a local Cuban. Wow, he was right on. Great roasted pork MOIST, crunchy tostones, sweet maduro plantains, non canned black and pink-red beans!!! Wine, beer. Nice owners. more
Puerto Plata is the best Latin restaurant in Jax. Pretty nice atmosphere and consistently good food. The pork is moist and tender, the black beans tasty and not canned, good plantains, patacones(tostones) o maduros. more
