McClard's has some great bbq, especially for Arkansas (Im from Memphis), but what I thought was the best was the tamales! The full spread with fritos and onions and cheese and anything else you can think of piled on top is a truly humbling experience. Cool atmosphere and a must while in hot springs. more

To let anyone know, having read that this place was a must in a guide book, that if you get there (and it is 3miles from the town centre) after 8pm it is closed! so we can't comment on the food only that this does seem a little early for a restaurant to shut. more

McClards is such a neat place to eat. I like the 50's style of the building itself. I have read many of the reviews... and I want first to point out that unless you go.. say... mid afternoon you will need to hover for a table... which I consider part of the fun. Also, If you walk in the door... more

After reading a lot of reviews, I would like to remind all of us that just because we don't ike something doesn't mean that it is not good. Having said that I recently took my first trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas. I am a huge Bill Clinton fan and wanted to eat at his favorite resteraunt, so I went to... more

After reading all the Tripadvisor restaurant reviews, my husband and I were eager to try McClaird's on a recent trip to Hot Springs. We've enjoyed a lot of BBQ, and I must say that McClaird's is just OK - not good, not bad. We arrived at lunchtime on Friday, and were seated quickly despite the restaurant being very busy. Our... more

My husband and I ate at McClard's during a recent trip to Hot Springs. We were told to arrive early because the crowds build. We ate an early dinner around 5pm and easily found a table. The food was tasty and quick. The sauce was a bit vinegary, the beans tasted more like chili than beans and the ribs were... more

My wife and I at at McClard's on a recent trip to Arkansas. The food was amazing, the decor was perfect, prices were fairly cheap. I would highly recommend this place, just come prepared: They close at 8 on weekdays and don't take credit cards, so grab some cash first. more

We had a late lunch at McClards - after 1pm, on a Friday afternoon. Parking lot was full, and seating was open only at the counter. An order of 2 chopped pork sandwiches, fries, beans, and 2 drinks cost around $18 - a bit pricey, with tip, for an afternoon meal. The sauce is the 'draw' to this very busy,... more

This little place is a bit off the beaten path. But it s worth the short drive b/c It is WONDERFUL! I've been to several other BBQ places in Hot Springs and this place is really the best of the best, a true classic. Try the tamales or BBQ sandwiches w/ cabbage...fantastic beyond words! more
