Meal of a lifetime, the BEST butternut shrimp bisque ever-each bite sent me into utter happiness. I have since made it several times. The duck with cornbread dressing and honey pecan gravy-was a delight, but the pecan pie with caramel sauce defines southern goodness. more

Brigtsen's lived up to its reputation for us on July 22. My mother was my travel companion and because she won't suffer a long wait for a table, I made our reservation six weeks in advance. Excellent food, service, ambiance. Went there 8/07, and was thoroughly impressed. And we have eaten at many places in NOLA. The only negative is if you are staying in/near French Quarter and don't have a rental car, your cab fare may be around $20. more
