If you have eaten Italian in NYC or Chicago, much less Italy, you'll be disappointed here. You will be pleasantly surprised if you order steak - especially garlic steak, and steak fries - they are surprisingly good. more

Great place to eat. Very Comfortable Old School Italian. The environment is casual but when the legislature is in town, you are just as likely to find the Speaker of the House eating dinner here. Families are welcome, but then again, my wife & I find it a romantic place for a few drinks and a nice meal. The food... more

Saputo's is a family-owned Italian restaurant and has been in business at the same location since 1948. We had a great meal, sharing an entree of pasta primavera with broccoli sauced with olive oil and garlic. Wow! The tiramisu was the perfect finish. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgable, showed up when we needed her and stayed out of the... more

This was arguably the WORST restuarant I've eaten in in 20 years, and definitely the WORST ITALIAN RESTAURANT. After this searing experience, I may never return to Springfield! The restaurant was actually recommended by several locals, and all I can think of is, they must be having a good laugh, having led out-of-towners astray! My three kids and I were... more

All in all, my family was disappointed with our dinner at Saputos. The owner, (who happened to seat us) set the tone for the dining experience. He really set off this "I'm doing you such a huge favor" attitude. Anyway, we were seated and we looked over the menu. Each of us ordered the Lettuce and Tomato salad as an... more

I grew up in Springfield, now live in New England, and can vouch for Saputo's being certainly one of the best restaurants in Springfield. The food is great, the service is wonderful, the atmosphere is nice, and it's authentic Springfield. It may not be authentic Italian in the sense of what you'd find in Italy, or gourmet as in a... more

I'm used to eating on the Hill in St. Louis (Yogi Berra & Joe Garagiola's old 'hood), and that's where I felt I was, eating this place. They do Italian very well. Had the baked ravioli with sausage and a more savory sausage I've never had. Really impressive. And they don't skimp on the cheese when they bake their dishes.... more

Three of us ate here and the place was really busy for a Tuesday evening around 8:00 p.m. Two of us just ordered a salad (chicken) and loved it as it had lots and lots of diced chicken in it. My husband ordered the shrimp scampi and for $17.50, he got six "medium" shrimp which automatically came with a side... more
