We were given a table that did not meet our liking and we were immediately offered an alternative acceptable choice. The restaurant is located down a lane in the center of town. Parking is on the street. The service was friendly without being intrusive. I had veal medallions and my wife had crispy duck, both of which were good dishes.... more

We always dine at the Prince & Pauper on our annual trip to Woodstock and it's always a wonderful experience. Atmosphere is charming and rooms are cozy on fall and winter evenings. Food is always delicious and prepared as requested. Servers are personable and professional. While prices are not inexpensive the dining experience is worth it. Many locals dine here,... more

This was a not-so-special dinner that cost $200 for two. Prix-fixe was $48 per person, and wine from the less expensive side of the menu was another $48. Add a $14 martini (!) and a tip, and you've parted with over $200. We live in Manhattan, and we can find new, inventive cuisines, with dinner costing half as much. Prince... more

My mom, 2 yr old son, and I enjoyed dinner at this restaurant, although I really wouldn't recommend it for families with young children. It is a small place, and it's so quiet. I felt like every little noise we made was heard by everyone. They accommodated us with crayons and paper. We enjoyed the Prima pizza. If you are... more

The restaurant menu was was definitely pricey but we opted for the bar menu and ate well for a reasonable price. The restaurant has abundant charm and atmosphere and a nice location on one of Woodstock's main streets. They also are in the 'Vermont Fresh Network" which is a plus. more

I was in Woodstock, VT for a long weekend with my fiancee. The Prince and the Pauper came highly recommended from the many internet searches I had done, so I made reservations over a month in advance and had high expectations for this restaurant. Of the 3 places that I ate at in the area, this was the least memorable.... more

My husband and I have a second home n Plymouth Vt and since being welcomed by Vin, for the first time, MANY years ago, have enjoyed so many lovely dinner hours with the Prince through the years. This coming weekend, in spite of the expected crowds, we anticipate another superb meal with choice wine as we celebrate our 49th wedding... more

My husband and I travel to Woodstock three or so times a year, and we always have dinner at the Prince and the Pauper. The staff is always welcoming and gracious, and the food has always been fantastic!! The Ahi Tuna is my favorite entree, and my husband loves the filet mignon. I dream of the profiterolles and cappucciono!!! The... more

On a weeks holiday in Woodstock and not having booked a table for Saturday night we struggled to find a restaurant but eventually had an excellent meal at The Lauren. So, next night we booked at The Prince and Pauper and were very disappointed at the relatively poor quality of the food. A very over-cooked duck with somewhat crude and... more

We have visited P&P a number of times and have always had a very good experience. The location is wonderful for all of those staying within Woodstock proper, an easy walk. The food has always been very well prepared and the atmosphere is what you would expect from a quaint NE resturant. I recommend a cold winter night with a... more
