I think that Daddy D'z has the best BBQ in Atlanta. Always have to go there on the way to or from a Braves game or on the way to the drive-in! My first trp to the south and I wanted to get a taste of authentic southern BBQ. I left my hotel, and by chance drove by this place. I stopped in and never regreted it. fry it and its wonderful. Try the 'broccoli' casserole (mostly just wonderful cheese) and the fried bbq apps, you'll fight over the last one more
Good historic site for BBQ near downtown. Don't be fooled by the outside/neighborhood, it is worth a trip. more
