We had dinner mid November at SeaWatch on the recommendation of the valet at our hotel. After reading that Bev Gannon has recently taken over, we were very enthusiastic as we really enjoyed dinner at another restaurant she owns many years ago. When we entered the restaurant, the decor was a nightmare--it looked just like an old tired room where... more

Having spent the last 4 Thanksgivings on Maui -- I have learned to set my expectations accordingly (i.e. not too high). We decided - a year in advance - to eat at SeaWatch this year based on reviews and previous experience. It's one of the best looking restaurants in Maui. Recently, we were told it had changed hands -- and... more

My husband and I enjoyed the food and service of this restaurant. He had the steak and I had the pork loin (I know - come to Hawaii and eat those? but we had had a lot of seafood by this time). We arrived early evening without a reservation in November - it was VERY quiet. We had a romantic... more

A group of 11 of us ate at Seawatch in November - we were in Wailea for a business meeting. It was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. But I'm getting ahead of myself - firstly it can be a little difficult to find the place after dark - the restaurant is situated at the Wailea Golf... more

We were married at the SeaWatch. We could not have asked for a more beautiful backdrop for a sunset wedding. Our reception was held outdoors under a blanket of stars. The scene was so romantic. The staff was excellent, highly attentive and efficient. The food was excellent. With that being said, I think that the SeaWatch needs to consider offering... more

Seawatch has always been our favorite and the first place we eat when we go to maui. We have always loved the breakfasts and the Kula BBQ sandwich. We were at the Seawatch recently and were disappointed with our breakfast...the omelet was dry as were the potatoes. When we had lunch there, we were disappointed again. While the BBQ was... more

I always made a trip out to Wailea for lunch from the West side for their ahi burger and cashew chicken mango chutney wrap so was disappointed that both were removed from the menu. I was surprised at how fast it has changed. You use to be able to get a decently priced lunch there but the prices have increased,... more

For many years we have enjoyed our late breakfast/early lunches at the SeaWatch. The management changed just a month or so before we arrived on island. Keeping our fingers crossed we headed up the hill. Of course the view is still the same, absolutely beautiful. Service was better than when we were there in January 2009. The full breakfast menu... more

Well, I was willing to give it a shot. When Bev Gannon took over the Seawatch in August, I was very concerned that she would wreck it with the legendary "Bev Gannon touch". Sure enough, arrogance has trumped sensibility. Arriving at about 11:25AM, I confirm with the host that breakfast is still served until 3PM, only to be told by... more

To be fair, we dined at Seawatch the day after they switched owners. However, wouldn't they want to be at their best to draw new customers? They weren't. The price was above average, the food was average and the service was below average (making us pay for an appetizer that came out after our food arrived, and that we said... more
