The Grumpy Gringo was a pretty good restaurant for the price (it was a little pricey for Mexican food but I'm not one to complain about things like that). I would suggest going for a platter if you are going to get something. One of our travel companions got just a burrito by itself and it costs just about as... more

Do not eat unless you have to! I went with my family despite the negative reviews here as all the places that were rated better were packed. This place was dead which should have been a giveaway. The beans and rice were almost not eadible and the main course was was ok/bad. There is a Taco Bell in town which... more

There are great Mexican restaurants, mediocre Mexican restaurants and then there is The Grumpy Gringo. I really hate to give a place a bad review, but the food here was awful. I ordered Chicken Enchilada's and they (as well as the rice and beans) were totally flavorless. What's worse is that I am sure the chicken came straight out of... more

Ate here on 9/28/2007 with my wife and 3 y/o daughter. After trying to get in to a couple of other places with long waits we thought we would try the Grumpy Gringo. Overall, I thought they were quite pricey - $8 for guacamole and some chips, and $12 for a burrito with no rice or beans seemed excessive. Even... more

I thought the decor of this place was nice. I believe the gentleman who seated us was the owner(?). The service was fine but the food was just okay; pretty bland. The serving size was pretty large however. The first serving of chips and salsa is free with a charge for extras. It is not likely you will want extras... more

Yes, the grumpiness spread to our table, too. "Flavorless" was the word of the day there, however one would say that in spanish. The bland decor (is this an old Denny's?) should have given us the word - if we hadn't already started on the margies, we might have headed out the door when I realized that the chips came... more

We visited mid-afternoon, only two more tables seated at the same time, so maybe not the best test. The margaritas were excellent, the chips were good, but the salsa was not special for people who like fresh veggie salsa rather than canned/bottled. I followed the waiter's recommendation for a dish that I think was called the Grumpy Gringo (taco, chile... more

The food is average, its almost like they buy their stuff frozen and nuke it. The chips are stale, and the staff is not that friendly. If you want Mexican, I think Ed's Cantina is a better choice. more
