Traditional diner experience, lines on weekends, but they move right along more

We discovered this restauraunt the first day we were in Salem, and its the only place we ever went for breakfast after that. The food was terrific--fruit salad was a giant bowl of fresh, seasonal fruits; the home fires were my daughter's favorite anywhere. We are making a detour on our next trip to Boston specifically to go back .... more

I've eaten several breakfasts here. The service is great. The atmosphere is lively. But you get the bare minimum for breakfast. The bacon isn't very good. The sausages are worse. It's one of the best undiscovered secrets of the North Shore. Fantastic little restaurant has the best breakfast you could possibly imagine with no holds barred portions, personable service and excellent prices. Place draws in quite a big crowd of locals during the weekends and easily recoups it's money. Leave your cholesterol check at the door to enjoy this place.... more
