The staff is extremely friendly, the decor is cute and retro but the portions are very average and my eggwhite omelette had very funny tasting cheese. more

My husband is a firefighter so our first stop in Newport was the firehouse where we were recommended Gary's Handy Lunch. Walking in was like going back in time, from the decor to the friendly service. We enjoyed large portions at great prices. Stopped in Gary's this past weekend both mornings after reading these reviews. Old fashioned diner with great breakfast and lunch too. During a recent stay in Newport, we asked the hostess of the restaurant we were dining at where the locals ate breakfast, and she said this was the spot.
