This place was close to our sons apt, so we tried it out. Food was fine (but not great). Beer was good. Service was good, but a bit too fast.
After a dear friend's morning wedding, we decided to indulge our German tastebuds at a old fashion beer house. Beers on tap were awesome. The Jagger Snitzle was heavy but tasty. The Schweinhaxen was disappointing. Poor spouse order it (it's his favorite), but he's also German. HUGE disappointment. But he did it half of my Jagger Snitzle. LOL!
Don't care where you are in the USA your German food won't be better than Mecklenburg Gardens! Don't give anyone else (Hofbrauhaus) your German food money in Cincy... Today we had OTR sliders and a sausage sampler with newly rereleased Weidemann's Pilsner... Outstanding!
When I saw this restaurant advertised on the internet I had high hopes for more of a traditional authentic meal. I was wrong, it is very Americanized and a big disappointment.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere and very reasonable prices. Good variety of bier. Three of us enjoyed the sandwiches and desserts, which were reasonable priced. Our waitress was excellent.
Beer and Bratwurst with a German flair and feel. Staff was very friendly and made you feel very welcome and like family.

It arrived luke warm...but tasted fine...but it was just plain cold by the time I got half-way done. The rest of the side items were... More
We arrived in Cincinnati along with a cold snap, so we weren't able to eat outside. The inside is definitely old and a little dark, but that part of the character in a 19th century building. It was quite clean with a friendly staff, and our server went out of her way to find a beer that my 87 year... More
Really great old Cincinnati expierince. I went there with a business associate last week, cause I was visiting for work. It just so happened to be the night of the Mecklenburg Gardens Christmas party! We were welcomed like old regulars, the owners were so nice. The bar and dining room are super cozy and very old school. They have good... More
With Biergartens atmosphere in warm weather, dining outside is lovely and fun when a band is playing. Inside is warm and cozy with old wood and German feel. The food is fantastic and the owners are wonderful people to talk to.
