Recommended by locals, we went to Relishes to try their muffins. We were blown away. You must try their savoury muffin, it was out of this world. Sooooo yummy. Their chocolate banana muffin was also excellent. Dinner, other then their seafood chowder, which was wonderful, was only slightly above average.
We arrived in Wanaka on 29/12/10 and asked a local where we should eat, he recommended Relishes Cafe. We were not disapointed. It had lovely menu choices. The food was excellent, and just a bit different. Nice location and friendly staff. Would definately recommend this restaurant for fish or meat eaters.
We were recommended to go here by the owner of Te Wanaka lodge. We arrived to find a packed restaurant, bustling and full of atmosphere. We went to a bar upstairs to have a drink and wait for a table. When the table was ready, one of the staff came up to collect us - great service. The people here... More
I had dinner at Relishes in Dec and it was fantastic. The quality of the food was more like a 5 star restaurant than a cafe. Certainly one of the best Ive had in New zealand! The staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. I will definaltly be coming back for more. Thankyou for a wonderful evening.
Back again after a couple of years and if possible, even better than ever. Food was superb, fresh, beautifully presented and great. Service friendly and efficient. Extremely reasonable, and with no hidden costs (unlike many others in Wanaka) - Just the best in town - or anywhere in the South Island!
We enjoyed the lunch we had here but the service left a lot to be desired. We were simply ignored for about 15 minutes after we sat down, and after lunch we gave up on ordering a coffee and went elsewhere.
The Café is nice and the service was good. Our two mains weren't good, however. We had the wild goat loin and the dunedin clams. The clams were just too spicy and there was too much of the broth. The goat didn't have any taste at all which was surprising as the meat was marinated. We did not try a... More
My wife and I each ordered fish dishes - salmon and tuna respectively. My wife loves salmon and found Relishes' crusted salmon amongst the very best she has ever had. I enjoy fresh tuna though seldom have the opportunity to have it. The tuna was served on a risotto, with a savory sauce. I found this to be a perfect... More
