We had a fantastic dinner at The Balcony. After reading about it on concred.gr (a website whose objective is the certification of restaurants that serve good Cretan cuisine), we decided that we had to make the trip to Sitia to visit and we were so glad that we did! We ordered the salmon and the rabbit, both which were well... More

I am afraid I expected more really. As the menu is limited (compared to local tavernas) I expected much more from the 4 or 5 dishes per course on the 'greek' menu. There are also - bizarrely - a Mexican and Chinese menu. The service and the food was inconsistent: excellent fava and lamb but dull chicken. Wine prices are... More

This taverna is a desirable "must", combining Siteian dishes at their Cretan best with a delicate, and always subtle, French cuisine. What a combination! More

We've been touring Crete for a week with my wife. We had read about The Balcony, and we can now confirm it is definitely the best restaurant we've been to in Crete ! Wonderful and creative cuisine, Tonya is a nice person, and Jean-Pierre, french husband, a nice guy who spent an hour wiht us telling us about his story... More

We have just been back from Crete and we made a point of driving from Malia to Sitia just to have dinner at Tonya's and Jean-Pierre's restaurant. We even rented an hotel room, since we knew we were going to have a great night of fine dining and pleaure with both who have become friends ever since we first entered... More

I was most impressed with the wonderful hospitality of Tonya and Jean-Pierre ; they made travellers from far away places feel right at home. The restaurant was creatively and uniquely decorated with interesting local objects, enhanced by a range of carefully selected Greek music that was so romantic and refreshing to us strangers in this town. The food was delicious,... More

Wonderful return visit to a remarkable jewel of fine dining on the island of Crete, remarkable inventive and delicious food -cooked with great love and passion by Tonya. Great hospitality from both Tonya and Jean Pierre. The night we were there Tonya created a new dessert inspired by Greek Coffee - "Poly Nostimo " Marckos Konnakakis More

There are lots of taverns in Sitia, which will serve visitors fine if they are not too picky, but this restaurant is probably the only place in town that caters to more sophisticated palettes. Excellent ingredients, cooked with skill and imagination mean that visitors are treated to a real culinary delight. The menu is perhaps a little limited, which should... More

I went with two friends for dinner and we all loved it. The atmosphere is cozy and the interior nicely decorated. The food we had was truly unique and delicious. The owners Tonya and Jean Pierre are warm and welcoming: in the end they treated us desert and "raki" (locally produced liquer). The price range is on the high end... More

We loved it. We love Crete and especially Sfakia region. This year we decidec to go also east. After 3 weeks of wonderful food at tabernas we felt in the need of a little cuddle. Some friends suggested this restaurant, chic but simple at the same time, beautiful glasses to drink excellent wine, nice Jean Pierre serving in a professional but... More
