Went for birthday celebration. The staff were very friendly and well organised. Restaurant has a great ambience and is very welcoming with losts of candles. The food was very good and the service very prompt. The only criticism I have, is that I would of liked a bit more meat and vegetables on the plate. Cost for two of us three... More

Lovely food, nice beer, huge malt whisky collection. Slightly quirky service, but would happily return there. More

First visit to this restaurant after moving into the area. Noted some of the negative comments on here but we had no complaints at all. Service at the bar and restaurant was cheerful and efficient, food was great, and prices OK by Yorkshire Dales standards. We had six drinks, four starters, four main courses and one dessert for £115 so... More

We decided to have sunday lunch at the Sandpiper recently to celebrate a special occasion. I should have known that standards had slipped when the barmaid proceeded to pour my drink order into a glass covered in lipstick! Anyway, one clean glass later, we were ushered into the restaurant only to be served with the worst roast beef dinner I've... More

Had a couple of meals here and they were both very good. Service was excellent. Restaurant was in fact full for the second evening but we were offered a table in the bar area. It was extremely busy but the atmosphere was good and the service was not impaired at all. Well done to the staff. We will certainly return... More

I sent the following emai after a meal at The Sandpiper with some friends. Last week my wife and I spent a few days with friends in Yorkshire and on Thursday night they took us out for dinner at your restaurant. I would comment on the service and presentation of food and confirm they were both excellent. My reason for... More

The Sandpiper was recommend to us by friends and we chose it to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Although it is a pub, it is more like a restaurant. The service cannot be faulted and the food was superb. I would say it is a great restaurant if for a special celebration. The portions are not huge but okay and the... More

We booked this restaurant for a birthday and on arrival chose to have a pre-dinner drink. The girl who served us with our drinks at the bar seemed very off -hand with us but soon smiled when serving some locals. Does she have an attitude with tourists? The other staff were quite pleasant. On receiving our food, I noticed the... More
