Took friends there for a late lunch after walking up Bennachie, we've been there twice before for coffe and scones and lunch and were looking forward to taking our visitors there. We had the platter with a sandwich and soup of the day ,kipper pate and oatcakes (serves two) for each couple. The food was lovely but for £16 per... More

Glad to hear you enjoyed the food! The cost of the sharing platter was calculated to save our customers about £3. If you were to buy all the compontent parts of what you were served (including the ramakin of homemade pate) you would pay close to £19. We always serve additional bread or oatcakes with butter for free if customers... More

We found Gadies after a few weeks of looking around the area for a few weeks in May for somewhere to eat and drink. What a top result,as the weather was cold, our muddy boots where off but the under floor heating was on, the welcome was warm and all whom worked there found it no problem to come up... More

The 15th of January was the second visit to this restaurant in 6 months and turned out to be worse than the first. Normally I would vote with feet, but on this occasion feel compelled to write my disappointment as a result of resistance to accept my complaint from a manageress. Strangely, same excuses as first visit! Dirty wine glass... More

We chose Gadies for our Christmas night and could not have had better service or food. Despite varying our final numbers on more than one occassion there was never any problem from the staff and at no time suggested it to be an issue unlike some other venues! The food was fantastic, well presented and a wonderful cheesboard to finish... More

I take the kids here for lunch at the weekend quite frequently. The food is always great and the service too. The restaurant is child friendly, without being over-run with kids, as there is a wooden farm for them to play with, that generally keeps them occupied, quiet and on the same spot. One of the few places I always... More

After reading the reviews, went for lunch with the family but SO disappointed! Wine warm replaced when complained. Ages to wait for food to arrive. 3meals served together, the fourth waited for 5minutes. Chips so dry , overcooked and brown , same with bradie and hamburger which had been clearly been kept warm under hot lamps in the kitchen waiting... More

Having read the one star review, I felt compelled to comment and rate the Gaddies experience........ First class staff, very good food, and a lovely atmosphere ensure we go there regularly. The craft shop is also worth a look, with numerous gifted artists work for sale. Ignore the one star rating from an individual who obviously has an agenda. More

I had to write a review after seeing the frankly unbelievable one-star review... how anyone can give this incredible, unpretentious, homely and welcoming restaurant any fewer than five stars is beyond me. The service is impeccable, the food is exquisite and ALWAYS cooked to sheer perfection, the ambience means you just feel so at home from the minute you walk... More

Thank you very much for your kind words. We are glad you feel welcome to dine at Gadie's as a family. Children are always welcome daytime or evening. As parents ourselves we know how important it is that kids not be excluded from important family occasions. PS The fire is buring brightly in the evenings as the cold nights approach!! More

Homely and unpretentious, welcoming service, beautiful food. Went here for our anniversary meal after a recommendation and were not disappointed, if only all restaurants were as good as this. Awesome food and beers, every mouthful savoured. More

We recently visited Gadies for my husband's 50th birthday. The staff could not do enough to make sure the evening was special - food was delicious. Definitely recommend you visit this restaurant for good food/good wine and great experience. More
