I think the previous reviewer may be right and the management has changed because the experience we had bears no relation to the glowing reports previously made. The 'free' water is actually tap water which we had been advised not to drink but our waiter assured us it is OK which it probably is. Two of our party drank it... more

We recently enjoyed another holiday to Skala and this time we visited the Pines Restaurant. Initially we were put off by the English Breakfast signs, that a number of the local Tavernas have. Walked past on a number of nights and saw that it was always busy so thought I'd give it a go. Instead the sleeve of the menu reads 'specialities'.....where it goes on to talk about how the Chef had won a big award for his Kefelonia Meat Pie.....award winning local produce??? I'll take it. this place was absolutely charming to eat at. My friend and i had a lovely dinner there and will definitley be back. It was our favorite place to eat. they had a variety of things on the menu to choose from. The food my friend and i got was delicious. more

We have just returned from a trip to Scala in Kefalonia and must agree with all the other people who highly recommended the Pines as the best place to eat in Scala. We could quite happily have eaten here every night, but as it was our first time in Scala, felt we had to give the others a fair chance.... more
