Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is absolutely superb! We had two nights here on our way driving from North to Southern France and already, I’m looking forward to going back. The room was spotlessly clean, comfy bed, stylishly decorated, good A/C, good Wi-fi. And the dinner at Lucienne...restaurant is perhaps some of the best food I have ever eaten. We thought that because the standard of both the restaurant and the hotel rooms was so high that it was good value for money. I really can’t fault it and we will definitely go back.More

We spend a lovely evening in this cosy restaurant. The 7 plates menu was very good. There was a exotic taste in almost every plate that we enjoyed quite a lot. The amuse-bouche was probably one of our favorite. We found the spaghetti used for...decoration not really exiting but that's a detail. The staff was nice and smiling.More

This hotel restaurant offers gourmet dining in a romantic terrace setting in the quiet wine village of St Amour. An experience not to be missed if in this Wine Area of France It is a set menu with no choice but the cooking, presentation and...service are beyond reproach. You are offered a series of beautifully presented dishes each a delight to the eye and so full of delicate combinations of flavour and texture. Nearly made us want to stay another night in this equally superb hotel just for the dining. The evening was an event. One of our best meals in France, ever. The breakfast was equally fine making you want to linger in the morning in the Beaujolais sunshine. Of course a good selection of Beaujolais wine on the Wine List. A wine served as it should be in a cooler. Not cheap but worth every euro. See separate review of HotelMore

We stayed for 1 night on the way to the South of France and it was a tiny little village. The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms are beautiful. I would recommend the tasting menu, as the food was to die for and the wine...to accompany was fab! We had a lovely aperitif before our meal...and although the owners do not speak English (which is kind of why we chose it - not touristy) they could not do more for you. The breakfast has an amazing selection of jams, breads and whatever your heart desires. I really want to come here again! The pool we did not get to try as it was not the weather, but we had the hot tub indoors to ourselves. A very romantic destination I would recommend.More

Once again the menu degustation was amazing. The food was pretty much perfect. We started with several amuse bouches all of which were fantastic. Each dish was a wonderful combination of flavours and textures and the presentation was so artistic - almost a shame to...eat. There is far too much detail in each to describe so I will confine myself to describing the main course which was duck presented as a kind of hamburger but there the analogy ends. It was cooked perfectly so a bit pink but with the most wonderful crispy skin. It was truly 'melt in the mouth' quality.More

We stayed in the hotel which was brilliant but the restaurant really made for an amazing experience. It is a set tasting menu so there are no choices to be made other than from the fantastic wine list and the food is really inventive and...absolutely delicious. If anything I could have done with slightly smaller portions over the 5 courses as I was completely stuffed by the end. Worth the trip just for the restaurant.More

Excellent gastronomic restaurant, kindness of the owners, lovely small swimming line, breakfast is a must even after the fabulous dinner, the 6 rooms are beautiful but the house (gîte) is design-decorated and indeed the best "house" to stay in on this property.

This is a perfect location for a romantic weekend break for say 2 nights. A charming but tiny French Village, which has many local wineries & some of the worlds best french wines within a 5 to 10 mile radius. Fabulous cycling country & great...restaurants both here and in the village. The hotel is charming, perfectly French and well worth a visit.More

We stayed here whilst cycling through the Bourgoyne in June and stayed in house. The meal was fantastic in all respects and could not be faulted in the slightest. There was a subtle theme of Moroccan spice through all dishes from the amuse bouche to...the dessert which was very cleverly done. Some degustation meals can seem a little disjointed but not so in this case even down to the pea sorbet with dessert!!! We had wine matched with the meal by the sommelier which was a great option. Thinking about the meal still makes us salivate. I'd go back tomorrow to do it all againMore

Having moved into the area a couple of months ago I decided that for St Valentine St Amour and the Auberge du Paradis was a must. The evening was fully booked so I reserved for lunch. The decor is striking, a lot of black which...contrived to be elegant rather than morbid. We started with a Kir for appero, how nice to have a proper Kir (around 20% Cassis) rather than the blanc Cassis I had grown used to over 30+ years in Haute Savoie. There is only a single Menu Dégustation, a succession of dishes, in each of which suble use of spices produce tantalisingly surprising flavours. Unimaginatively perhaps, I had selected a half bottle of white wine and a bottle of St Amour red (what else). I was advised to reverse the sizes which proved sound advice! The meal was memorable, the reception charming, the service discreet, friendly, effective and a perfect balance between upmarket service and unpretentious. At €69 each it cannot be classed as bargain basement but bearing in mind the succession of dishes and the care that had evidently been lavished on them there can be no complaints. Try it!More

Stayed here on our trip South to Provence. A lovely well kept hotel with boutique rooms in an attractive burgundian village. The evening meal was good and certainly above that of your average Auberge. One minor grouch was the fact that we were unable to...check out as early as we wanted and had to wait for Madame to get up once the cleaners arrived and realised we wanted to be off. To be honest it was our fault really as we had originally thought to stay and have breakfast (but at 21 euros each and not beginning until 08.30 it was too late and too pricey!).More
