Glad this has never happened to me. Not sure I would want my luggage back after this.
Hmm, yep, that's not pleasant!
I wonder what BA is offering the passengers for their inconvenience?
Is this a new story ? There was a sewage leak last year at T5 which shut the main BA lounges (Concorde Room side).
The remaining club lounge in the main terminal was like Oxford Street shopping at Christmas!
Oh dear, that is pretty disgusting.
I saw it in the news yesterday, just before I flew to Terminal 5. Hope the people affected were returning from holiday, rather than just setting off. I'm sure (hope) they receive some form of compensation, as its pretty nasty
"The bags were sent off to be cleaned and British Airways apologised..."
TO BE CLEANED!
There is no way on earth I would bring those bags back into my home. period.
The company should at least offer to purchase new luggage and clothing for the victims.
They were probably in no danger of having the bags stolen. Passengers really have no idea what their bags have been through. I imagine people will be filing claims with the airline and/or insurance companies, claiming their hugely expensive designer clothes were completely ruined.
But in THIS situation, it would be easy to open the luggage and document the contents.
That's terrible, always knew BA were full of siht ....
It's just a matter of time before someone takes this to court as is the way these days. Yes we definatley live in a sue age. At least it's an open and shut case. If they get compensation they go from effluent to affluent.
