Booking a connecting flight with Norweigian

I want to fly from London Gatwick to Los Angeles on the 13th Sept. On this day however there are no direct flights so would have to go via Copenhagen - there is a 3hr 20 wait which seems enough time however from reading Norweigans own website it seems I am far better off purchasing 1 ticket for these two legs, rather than separately, just in case the flrst flight is delayed meaning I miss the 2nd, and then the start of my tour.

I have tried and tried and tried to call the customer services desk but just on hold permanently - its costing £35 a minute and I dread to think how much its costing.

The website doesnt seem to want me to book London ---> LA saying no flights available, but quite happy for me to book two separates.

Are there any travel agents that I can call up and book with that would book as 1 ticket? I can see if I go on skyscanner or Kayak it lists the trip saying it has 1 stop, but I have no idea from this whether I would just get 2 tickets

When you search for LGW to LAX it only shows the direct flights that operate on a Wed & Sun and I couldn't see anywhere to select indirect flights or multi city flights other than booking 2 separate tickets which you don't want to do because of the risks involved.

I'd suggest giving Trailfinders a call or popping into one of their offices to see if they can book it as a single ticket.

There's info about connecting flights in the terms and conditions on Norwegian's website.

You might wish to review this and think again.

Booking 2 separate flights looks to be risky. And it appears you can only book connecting flights to certain destinations, possibly your itinerary is one that can't be booked as one ticket.

http://norwegian.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/519/kw/Separate%2520bookings

Reading the part on separate tickets it says they will only put you on a flight if the delay is caused by Norwegian. So it implys ATC delays, weather would be outside their control and so you would forfeit your transatlantic flight and usually as a no show your return is also cancelled.

You say you are joining a tour, IMHO Norwegian are not the most reliable airline as they have had a lot of technical problems with their aircraft. They also have no interlink agreements so they will not transfer you to another carrier. Do they fly every day from CPH to LAX? If not you would miss your tour. If you are going to use Norwegian I would fly in a couple of days early to have a buffer. Remember if you miss the flight and they will put you on another flight, it will be the next flight with available seats, that could be next day or in a weeks.

Or I would use another airline that has interline agreements and at least daily flight.

Only you know how you view risk.

I'm wondering how your calls can possibly be costing £35 a minute?!

I would book a direct flight with another company - especially since you are going on a tour. It just doesn't seem worth the risk.
