Will Frontier Airlines charge me extra if I wear a fanny pack on the plane? I want to wear one to hold my ipod, wallet, and a book.

You ought to read their carry on requirements. You're allowed to bring one personal item free so a fanny pack will qualify:

No, but you could be fined by the fashion police.

Yes, a bum-bag (for our UK English friends) is not a real fashion statement any more.

As for the OP's question (other than the fashion aspect), if that is your ONLY personal item, you should be good to go, provided it is not too large to fit into the sizers. A few sports photographer friends have some pretty large ones, such as fitting in 2 DSLR's and a half-dozen large lenses.

Good luck,

Yes, that sort of personal luggage does get different responses in the UK and Europe - just totally different terminology. Such questions get a big rise on the TA London Board, and then a long discussion on different terms "across the pond." Of course, if an Aussie joins in, things go pear-shaped in a hurry.

Yes. The mention of "fanny pack" has a totally different meaning in the UK. It's actually vulgar.

The airline won't charge you, but as others have said, the fashion police will. Like wearing socks with sandals, no matter how practical you feel it is, some things you just shouldn't do.

This is one of them. :-))
